Sherlock Holmes 2 is a mystery film sequel to the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes, set for release on December 16, 2011. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie and the screenplay is written by Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney based on the character of the same name created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The film stars Robert Downey, Jr. as Sherlock Holmes, Jude Law as Dr. John Watson, Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler, Noomi Rapace as Sim, Kelly Reilly as Mary Morstan, Jared Harris as Professor Moriarty, Stephen Fry as Mycroft Holmes, Eddie Marsan as Inspector Lestrade, Geraldine James as Mrs. Hudson, Fatima Adoum and Gilles Lellouche.
Movie synopsis: Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick Dr. Watson join forces to outwit and bring down their fiercest adversary, Professor Moriarty.
