Movie Synopsis: The brief love affair between two 20th century icons is dramatized in this period drama from director Jan Kounen. Chanel is nursing a broken heart after the recent death of her boyfriend, and what began as an act of compassion for a fellow artist turns into an affair of the heart as Chanel and Stravinsky become lovers, much to the chagrin of the sickly Catherine. Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky was the second film about the fashion icon released in 2009, following Anne Fontaine's Coco Before Chanel.

The Greatest is a drama romance film set to be released in March 2010 (USA). The film is written and directed by Shana Feste, and stars Pierce Brosnan as Allen Brewer, Susan Sarandon as Grace Brewer, Carey Mulligan as Rose, Johnny Simmons as Ryan Brewer, Aaron Johnson as Bennett Brewer and Miles Robbins as Sean Brewer.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is a romantic comedy film, directed by Donald Petrie, and starring: Kate Hudson as Andie Anderson, Matthew McConaughey as Benjamin Barry, Kathryn Hahn as Michelle, Annie Parisse as Jeannie,Adam Goldberg as Tony, Thomas Lennon as Thayer, Michael Michele as Judy Spears, Shalom Harlow as Judy Green, Robert Klein as Phillip Warren, Bebe Neuwirth as Lana Jang and Marvin Hamlisch as himself (cameo).

In the movie, Andie, a magazine writer who is writing an article 'How to lose a guy in 10 days'. Her mission is to date some poor unsuspecting guy and do all the things a woman can do to put a man off her...baby talk, mood swings, fluffy toys round his apartment and so on. Matthew McConaughey is advertising executive Benjamin who also has a mission.

He needs to make a woman fall in love with him in 10 days in order to win a lucrative contract. When the two meet the fun really starts as Andie desperately tries to get Ben to dump her and Ben, through gritted teeth, puts up with Andie's increasingly bizarre behavior in order to win his contract.

This movie was a great mix of comedy, romance, and familiarity. Kate and Matthew have a chemistry that makes for great viewing. The things that Kate does to drive Matt crazy are hilarious Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey were a match made for comedy. The chemistry between them made the movie.

Overall, this is an excellent entertaining movie if you plan to have a relaxing and fun evening.

The movie deals with casually intertwining stories of the heart that take place over the course of one Valentine's Day. An on-leave army officer named Kate (Julia Roberts) is a passenger on a flight from Iraq to Los Angeles when she meets Holden (Bradley Cooper), a gay man whose lover is a closeted football player (Eric Dane). The owner of a florist shop, Reed (Ashton Kutcher) proposes to his girlfriend, Morley (Jessica Alba), while learning his best friend, Julia (Jennifer Garner), has a boyfriend named Harrison (Patrick Dempsey) who turns out to be married. An assistant named Liz (Anne Hathaway) is working at the biggest talent agency in town and is dating the mailroom assistant, Jason (Topher Grace).

Julia's mother, Estelle (Shirley MacLaine) is a happy retiree who must reveal an affair from long ago to her husband, Edgar (Hector Elizondo), but for their granddaughter (Emma Roberts) is going to have sex with her boyfriend at her high school, in which Tyler Harrington (Taylor Lautner) and Samantha Kenny (Taylor Swift) who also go there are athletic teenagers who are deeply in love. Meanwhile, a publicist named Kara (Jessica Biel) is seemingly alone with no date on Valentine's Day working for her boss Kelvin Briggs (Jamie Foxx) whom she falls in love with working together. Oscar-winning actress Kathy Bates makes an appearance as a "love therapist." Joe Jonas voices the dog of Alba's character Morley. Letters to Juliet is a drama film written by Jose Rivera and Tim Sullivan, and directed by Gary Winick. Cast: Amanda Seyfried, Christopher Egan, Gael García Bernal, Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero. Letters to Juliet is set to be released on May 07, 2010 by Summit Entertainment. In the Movie, When a young American (Amanda Seyfried) travels to the city of Verona, home of the star-crossed lover Juliet Capulet of Romeo and Juliet fame, she joins a group of volunteers who respond to letters to Juliet seeking advice about love. After answering one letter dated from 1957, she inspires its author (Vanessa Redgrave) to travel to Italy in search of her long-lost love, which sets off a chain of events that will bring a love into both their lives unlike anything they have ever imagined.

Beastly is a fantasy romance film, based on the book by Alex Flinn. Written and directed by Daniel Barnz. Cast : Alex Pettyfer as Kyle Kingson, Vanessa Hudgens as Linda Taylor, Mary-Kate Olsen as Kendra Hilferty, Neil Patrick Harris as Will Fratalli, Lisa Gay Hamilton as Zola, Peter Krause as Rob Kingson, Dakota Johnson as Sloane Hagen, Erik Knudsen as Trey Parker and Gio Perez as Victor. Beastly is set to be released on July 30, 2010 by CBS Films. In the movie, Kyle Kingson is a spoiled, self absorbed 16 year old living in a posh apartment with his newscaster father. Owing to his always being absent his father has given Kyle anything he has ever wanted, but this tactic of fathering has its downfalls. Kyle, having also been gifted with incredible beauty, looks down on others, is always judging and deeming others beneath him. He is a perfect beast.

When he mistreats a young girl in his class at a dance she turns out to be a witch in disguise. To teach him a lesson she curses him so that his good looks are impaired by the appearance of a beast. There is one chance to break the spell though... Kyle must discover true love in the next two years and have the girl be in love with him despite his appearance, if not he will forever wear the guise of a beast.

Remember Me is a romantic-drama film written by Will Fetters and Jenny Lumet, and directed by Allen Coulter. Cast: Robert Pattinson as Tyler Roth, Emilie de Ravin as Ally Craig, Pierce Brosnan as Charles Roth, Tyler's father, Chris Cooper as Neil Craig, Ally's father, Lena Olin as Diane Hirsch, Ruby Jerins as Caroline Hawkins, Gregory Jbara as Les Hirsch, Tate Ellington as Aidan, Martha Plimpton as Helen Craig, Kate Burton, Peyton R. Leap Year is a romantic comedy film written by Simon Beaufoy, Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan, and directed by Anand Tucker. Cast: Amy Adams, Adam Scott, Kaitlin Olson and Matthew Goode. Leap Year 2010 is set to be released on January 8, 2010. by Universal Pictures. In the movie, Adams plays an uptight woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on leap day, Feb. 29, following an Irish tradition in which women propose to men on that day and the man has to say yes. When weather derails her trip, she enlists the help of a surly Irish innkeeper to make an unexpected cross-country trek to pull off the perfect proposal in time.

Dear John is a romantic drama/war movie written by Jamie Linden and directed by Lasse Hallstrom, based on the book by Nicholas Sparks. Stars: Amanda Seyfried as Savannah Lynn Curtis, Channing Tatum as John Tyree, Scott Porter as Randy, Henry Thomas as Tim and Richard Jenkins as Mr Tyree (John's Father). The film will release on February 6, 2010 by Screen Gems. John Tyree grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina raised by a single dad whose wife dumped the two males in her life. However, John learns from his father's Asperger's syndrome and his mother's abandonment that relationships must remain short, one night stands being his modus operendi except for joining the army where he makes a lifetime commitment as an infantryman.

When John was twenty-three and on leave he meets University of North Carolina special education major Savannah Lynn Curtis at Wrightsville Beach. They are attracted to one another though he is a social pariah and she volunteers her time for all types of social causes. They have nothing in common, but fall in love. John plans to leave the service once his enlistment is up so he can marry his beloved and raise a family with her; Savannah Lynn vows to wait for her Dear John. However, 9/11 changes the dynamics as he chooses country over love by reenlisting; she must decide between waiting and sending a "Dear John" letter by choosing a wannabe suitor, her long time friend Tim.

New York, I Love You is a romance movie directed by Jiang Wen, Mira Nair, Shunji Iwai, Yvan Attal, Brett Ratner, Allen Hughes and Shekhar Kapur. Stars: Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha, Andy Garcia, Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, Natalie Portman and Irrfan Khan. The film is set to be released on October 16, 2009 by Vivendi Entertainment / Palm Pictures. In the city that never sleeps, love is always on the mind. This movie (The Proposal) was just what I needed. I think it is another of my romantic comedy keepers that I'll see once a year.

Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is a strict executive editor in chief at a book publishing company. She finds out that she is being deported back to Canada, until she comes up with a scheme. In order to avoid being deported back to Canada she forces her assistant Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her. He unwillingly accepts, under the condition that he is promoted to the position of editor. When the government investigates, the two are forced to spend the weekend with his parents in Alaska in order to make the lie more convincing to the US officials investigating them.

I got caught up with the movie more than I thought because of the script, direction and, of course, the chemistry between the two lead actors. The dialogue is smart, realistic, sweet and doesn't treat the comedy heavy handedly. You don't feel that the pace and story is too simple or drawn out. Betty White also deserves kudos as cute Grandma Annie who knows how to use age to her advantage.

Overall, this is the odd couple type of comedy movie, with all the elements that work and the film is perfect for watching anytime with anyone.

The Messenger is a drama / romance movie written by Alessandro Camon and Oren Moverman and directed by Oren Moverman, stars: Ben Foster, Woody Harrelson, Samantha Morton and Jena Malone. The film is set to be released on November 13, 2009. In his most powerful performance to date, Ben Foster stars as Will Montgomery, a U.S. Army officer who has just returned home from a tour in Iraq and is assigned to the Army’s Casualty Notification service. Partnered with fellow officer Tony Stone (Woody Harrelson) to bear the bad news to the loved ones of fallen soldiers, Will faces the challenge of completing his mission while seeking to find comfort and healing back on the home front. When he finds himself drawn to Olivia (Samantha Morton), to whom he has just delivered the news of her husband’s death, Will’s emotional detachment begins to dissolve and the film reveals itself as a surprising, humorous, moving and very human portrait of grief, friendship and survival. Featuring tour-de-force performances from Foster, Harrelson and Morton, and a brilliant directorial debut by Oren Moverman, The Messenger brings us into the inner lives of these outwardly steely heroes to reveal their fragility with compassion and dignity.

Irene in Time is a comedy / drama movie, written and directed by Henry Jaglom. Stars: Tanna Frederick, Andrew Marcovicci, Victoria Tennant, Karen Black, Lanre Idewu, Jack Maxwell, David Proval. The film was released on September 23, 2009 by Rainbow Film Company. In the film, a puzzle about love and time, a mystery in which clues arte found and secrets are revealed, Irene in Time is a look at the complex relationships between fathers and daughters and the consequences – years later – on the grown women’s relationships to the men in their lives.
