Unhappy in her marriage, Sally develops a crush on her handsome art gallery owner boss, Greg (Antonio Banderas), while Roy, a novelist nervously awaiting the response to his latest manuscript, becomes moonstruck over Dia (Freida Pinto), a mystery woman who catches his gaze through a nearby window.

Despite these characters’ attempts to dodge their problems with pipe dreams and impracticable plans, their efforts lead only to heartache, irrationality, and perilous hot water.

Taking its title from the prediction fortune tellers use to beguile their marks, “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger,” illustrates with wry humor how easy it is for our illusions to make fools of us all.

One patron who did like the performance was Coco Chanel (Anna Mouglalis), who was already among Europe's most celebrated fashion designers. Seven years later, Chanel encounters Stravinsky at a party, and learns that the composer is penniless and without a place to live.

In the name of his newly created religion,

The Last Station HD movie trailer:

the great Russian novelist has renounced his noble title, his property and even his family in favor of poverty, vegetarianism and even celibacy. After she's born him thirteen children!

When Sofya then discovers that Tolstoy's trusted disciple, Chertkov (Paul Giamatti)—whom she despises—may have secretly convinced her husband to sign a new will, leaving the rights to his iconic novels to the Russian people rather than his very own family, she is consumed by righteous outrage. This is the last straw. Using every bit of cunning, every trick of seduction in her considerable arsenal, she fights fiercely for what she believes is rightfully hers. The more extreme her behavior becomes, however, the more easily Chertkov is able to persuade Tolstoy of the damage she will do to his glorious legacy.

Into this minefield wanders Tolstoy's worshipful new assistant, the young, gullible Valentin (James McAvoy). In no time, he becomes a pawn, first of the scheming Chertkov and then of the wounded, vengeful Sofya as each plots to undermine the other's gains. Complicating Valentin's life even further is the overwhelming passion he feels for the beautiful, spirited Marsha (Kerry Condon), a free thinking adherent of Tolstoy's new religion whose unconventional attitudes about sex and love both compel and confuse him. Infatuated with Tolstoy's notions of ideal love, but mystified by the Tolstoys' rich and turbulent marriage, Valentin is ill equipped to deal with the complications of love in the real world.

A tale of two romances, one beginning, one near its end, The Last Station is a complex, funny, rich and emotional story about the difficulty of living with love and the impossibility of living without it.

This movie (The Proposal) was just what I needed. I think it is another of my romantic comedy keepers that I'll see once a year.

Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is a strict executive editor in chief at a book publishing company. She finds out that she is being deported back to Canada, until she comes up with a scheme. In order to avoid being deported back to Canada she forces her assistant Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her. He unwillingly accepts, under the condition that he is promoted to the position of editor. When the government investigates, the two are forced to spend the weekend with his parents in Alaska in order to make the lie more convincing to the US officials investigating them.

I got caught up with the movie more than I thought because of the script, direction and, of course, the chemistry between the two lead actors. The dialogue is smart, realistic, sweet and doesn't treat the comedy heavy handedly. You don't feel that the pace and story is too simple or drawn out. Betty White also deserves kudos as cute Grandma Annie who knows how to use age to her advantage.

Overall, this is the odd couple type of comedy movie, with all the elements that work and the film is perfect for watching anytime with anyone.
