Cambridge, Mass. - Harmonix and MTV Games today (September 4, 2009) announced that two three-packs of songs from bands appearing at the Penny Arcade Expo this weekend will be available for download in the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content next week for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system and Wii. The packs feature Jonathan Coulton, MC Frontalot, Paul & Storm and Freezepop.

Additional tracks from Avenged Sevenfold, The Jam, Oasis and Rage Against the Machine will be available in the Wii Rock Band Music Store, and tracks from Stone Roses and Godsmack will be available for download for Rock Band Unplugged on PSP (PlayStation Portable) system.

Rock Band DLC Additions for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 System and Wii Console
The Penny Arcade Expo is an annual gamer festival in Washington state, created by the authors of the Penny Arcade webcomic. This year's PAX takes place Sept. 4-6 in Seattle and will feature performances from Jonathan Coulton, MC Frontalot and Paul & Storm. Freezepop will also perform at PAX and offer up a three pack that includes "Get Ready 2 Rokk," "Less Talk More Rokk" and "Science Genius Girl." The Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day is an action / thriller / crime movie and sequel to the 1999 The Boondock Saints. The modes:
Team Deathmatch-In Mercenary Wars' "Team Deathmatch" mode, two teams face off in combat against each other and the team with the highest kills wins. In this head-to-head battle, the winner is the team which has more kills when the time expires or the team which reaches the prerequisite number of kills first. Killed players are automatically re-spawned in just a few seconds.

Plant The Bomb- In the "Plant the Bomb" mode there are two teams competing against each other. Each of the two sides is given their mission--one is trying to plant the bomb and the other trying to prevent that from happening. The bomb is given to one member of the attacking team at random and once it is planted it is detonated within a limited time period.

Mercenary Team Deathmatch-In the "Mercenary Team Deathmatch" mode, a team may be organized with AI or mixed with players and AI's. The team with the highest kills wins the round and killed players re-spawn in just a few seconds. The side that reaches its kill quota first, or has more kills when time expires, wins!

Destruction Race-Two teams operate in Destruction Race mode and race to destroy the opponents defended target. Each side has a number of destroyable targets on their side of the map, and the side to destroy the targets belonging to the opponent wins the competition! Killed players are automatically re-spawned at their last captured target position. Other special features include a map divided into sections that must be defended.

Unlike other first person shooter games available today, Mercenary Wars features a unique stat system that players can use to upgrade and customize their lifelike characters. The combat in the game is designed to feel very realistic, while also allowing players to adjust their speed, accuracy, and health stats. Mercenary Wars is set in the not so distant future in a world where order and society as we know them are a thing of the past. The economies of the world have crashed and have been replaced with total chaos. New alliances have been forged and the world is now controlled by well-trained groups of mercenaries. Mr. Fox gets a brilliant idea and soon he and all of the underground animals find a way to pull the biggest trick of all on the three nasty farmers. After a long dry spell, the best female singer in the modern era finally returns with an album of pleasing songs that recall the sound of her greatest years. There is nothing here that will be considered mind-blowing and that is perhaps a good thing. Whitney Houston has not resorted to using rappers and annoying song samples that so many of today's performers do. Dedicated fans should not be disappointed. From the up tempo opening "Million Dollar Bill", the songs reflect tasteful and mature compositions. "Call You Tonight" is another infectious number but the majority here are ballads that Whitney does so well. Stand-outs include the title track, "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" (written with Houston in mind by Diane Warren), "Salut" and a gorgeous duet with Akon "Like I Never Left". Houston's voice is a bit more gravely than in the past but she still displays a hint at her former greatness on "A Song For You".

But when he and his buddy stumble upon a traveling freak show, things begin to change inside Darren. That’s the exact moment when a vampire named Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly) turns him into something, well, bloodthirsty. Newly undead, he joins the Cirque Du Freak, a touring sideshow filled with monstrous creatures from a snakeboy and a wolfman to a bearded lady (Salma Hayek) and a gigantic barker (Ken Watanabe). As Darren flexes his newfound powers in this dark world, he becomes a treasured pawn between the vampires and their deadlier counterparts. And while trying to survive, one boy will struggle to keep their brewing war from devouring what’s left of his humanity.

Section 8 is a first person shooter video game developed by TimeGate Studios and published by SouthPeak Interactive for Microsoft Windows (Minimum system requirements: Windows XP SP3 or Windows Vista SP1, Pentium 4 3Ghz or higher, RAM: 1GB for XP, 2GB for Vista, 6 GB free hard drive space, NVIDIA GeForce 7800 or ATI Radeon X1800 with 256 MB, DirectX 9c and Shader 3.0) and Xbox 360 and set to be released on September 01, 2009.

Players will be able to "burn-in" by dropping onto the battlefield from orbital dropships hovering at 15,000 feet from the surface, thus eliminating fixed spawn points. “Burning-in” also creates the opportunity for the player to choose where they drop on the map, making the game unpredictable. This process is an interactive experience as players can be shot down upon entry by players and anti-aircraft turrets alike, though these situations can be avoided or mitigated by using the "air-brake" feature which allows the player to make mid-air adjustments.

The name "Section 8" derives from an old United States military discharge regulation for reason of being mentally unfit for service, and also refers to the 8th Armored Infantry in the game.

Section 8 takes place in the future after the human race has discovered interstellar travel and has colonized across the galaxy. At the time of the game, a group called the ARM of Orion, has begun to 'disconnect' the outermost frontier planets from the main governing body, taking them over while keeping their presence hidden from the government. As space travel is slow, it often takes weeks to communicate with or travel to a frontier world, affording the ARM with enough time to seize worlds and build their base of power, ultimately preparing an ambush for the government forces that will eventually respond. The government then discovers the ARM of Orion, and sends in the 8th Armored Infantry, including Alex Corde (the player), on a mission to investigate, and presumably fight, the ARM invasion.
