First look at upcoming Clint Eastwood’s musical film A Star Is Born, starring Beyonce Knowles as Esther Hoffman. It is a remake of three earlier versions; the 1937 version was a drama starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March; 1954 version was a musical film starring Judy Garland and James Mason; 1976 version was a musical film starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. The script for the current version was written by Will Fetters and the screen adaptation will be produced by Billy Gerber, Basil Iwanyk and Jon Peters. Peters produced the 1976 version.
The film tells the story of a young woman who enters show business, meets and falls in love with an established male star only to find her career ascending while his goes into decline.
