Charlie St. Cloud is a fantasy movie based on the book “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” by Ben Sherwood”. The film is written by Craig Pearce and directed by Burr Steers, and stars Zac Efron as Charlie St. Cloud, Charlie Tahan as Sam St. Cloud, Kim Basinger as Louise St. Cloud, Ray Liotta, Amanda Crew as Tess Carroll and Chris Massoglia. The film is set to be released on July 30, 2010.

Movie synopsis: Zac Efron, a young man who survives an accident that lets him sees the world in a unique way. In this emotionally charged story, he begins a romantic journey in which he embraces the dark realities of the past while discovering the transformative power of love.

Clash of the Titans is a fantasy film and remake of the 1981 film of “Clash of the Titans”. Machotaildrop is a fantasy film directed and written by Corey Adams. Cast: James Faulkner, Anthony Amedori, Rick McCrank, Vanessa Guide, Lukacs Bicskey, John Mackie, John Rado, Steve Olson, Frank Gerwer and John Rattray. Movie release date TBD. In the movie, meet teenaged layabout Walter Rhum, who wants nothing more than to become a skateboarding star like his idol, Blair Stanley. His plan? Submit a video of his bag of tricks to legendary conglomerate Machotaildrop, then kick back and coast. When his presence is requested at the company's remote, mysterious fortress, he thinks he's got it made, but Walter is about to find out that fame, fortune and even skateboarding can be way totally fraught with complications.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a drama-fantasy film directed by Jon Turteltaub and written by Larry Konner, Mark Rosenthal, Matt Lopez, Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard. Cast: Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer, Monica Bellucci and Toby Kebbell. The Sorcerer's Apprentice is set to be released on July 16, 2010 by Walt Disney Pictures. In the movie, Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can't do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It'll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Beastly is a fantasy romance film, based on the book by Alex Flinn. Written and directed by Daniel Barnz. Cast : Alex Pettyfer as Kyle Kingson, Vanessa Hudgens as Linda Taylor, Mary-Kate Olsen as Kendra Hilferty, Neil Patrick Harris as Will Fratalli, Lisa Gay Hamilton as Zola, Peter Krause as Rob Kingson, Dakota Johnson as Sloane Hagen, Erik Knudsen as Trey Parker and Gio Perez as Victor. Beastly is set to be released on July 30, 2010 by CBS Films. In the movie, Kyle Kingson is a spoiled, self absorbed 16 year old living in a posh apartment with his newscaster father. Owing to his always being absent his father has given Kyle anything he has ever wanted, but this tactic of fathering has its downfalls. Kyle, having also been gifted with incredible beauty, looks down on others, is always judging and deeming others beneath him. He is a perfect beast.

When he mistreats a young girl in his class at a dance she turns out to be a witch in disguise. To teach him a lesson she curses him so that his good looks are impaired by the appearance of a beast. There is one chance to break the spell though... Kyle must discover true love in the next two years and have the girl be in love with him despite his appearance, if not he will forever wear the guise of a beast.

Tooth Fairy is a comedy/fantasy movie, directed by Michael Lembeck. Stars: Dwayne Johnson as Derek Thompson / Tooth Fairy, Ashley Judd, Julie Andrews as Lily, Billy Crystal, Brandon T. Jackson as Duke, Ryan Sheckler as Mick Donnelly, Stephen Merchant as Tracy Chris Noth, Brendan Penny as Josh Singer. The film is set to be released on January 22, 2010 by 20th Century Fox. In the film, Derek Thompson (Johnson) is 'The Tooth Fairy,' a hard-charging minor league hockey player whose nickname comes from his habit of separating opposing players from their bicuspids. When Derek discourages a youngster's hopes, he's sentenced to one week's hard labor as a real tooth fairy, complete with the requisite tutu, wings and magic wand. At first, Derek "can't handle the tooth" – bumbling and stumbling as he tries to furtively wing his way through strangers' homes…doing what tooth fairies do. But as Derek slowly adapts to his new position, he begins to rediscover his own forgotten dreams.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is a fantasy / adventure movie directed by Chris Columbus, based on The Lightning Thief the first book in the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series by Rick Riordan. Stars: Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson, Brandon T. Jackson as Grover Underwood, Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase, Jake Abel as Luke Castellan, Rosario Dawson as Persephone, Steve Coogan as Hades, Uma Thurman as Medusa, Catherine Keener as Sally Jackson, Percy's mother. Set to be released on February 12, 2010 by 20th Century Fox.

Percy Jackson, 12 year old half-blood. His mother is Sally Jackson. His father is Poseidon. And until one fateful field trip at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, he is a normal dyslexic kid. When he gets there, things get weird. His teacher, who turns out to be a monster, attacks him. He then journeys to Camp Half-Blood, an eternal camp for those unfortunate kids whose parents are gods. And just when he thinks things can't get any worse, Zeus starts blaming him for the theft of his lightning bolt, which has the power of a couple thousand nukes. Now he has to go on a quest to find Zeus's bolt, getting help from his new friends at Camp Half-Blood along the way. But who can he really trust?

Inkheart is a fantasy movie based on a very long novel of the same name “INKHEART” by Cornelia Funke, I loved the book, while the movie is not as intriguing as the book. It's fast pace and basically follows the general story line of the book and it is still a good entertaining family movie.

Mo Folchart (Fraser) and his daughter Meggie (Folchert) travel the world in search of the hard to find book "Inkheart". He is a silvertongue, and when Meggie was younger, Mo read from the book and brought the story to life. But, when something comes out of the story, something, or someone, must take its place. In this case, it was his wife, Resa (guillory). They are chased by two characters from the book, the evil Capricorn (Serkis), who wants to rule the real world, and Dustfinger (Bettany), who just wants to go home. With the help of Mo's Great Aunt Elinor (Mirren), they set out to find the author of the book (Broadbent) to set things right.

The general premise of the story was present in the movie, and the special effects are well done. The casting and acting in Inkheart is very well done. Brendan Fraser, who I always enjoy, does a very nice job as Mo - concerned for his daughter, terrified of unleashing more evil into the world, desperate to find his wife. Helen Mirren is fantastic and funny as Aunt Elinor, the perfect avenger of her odd little family. The rest of the cast is very pleasant and believable, whether they are from the real world or snatched out of fiction. Eliza Bennett, who plays Meggie, is delightful and lovely, and Rafi Gavron, one of Ali Baba's Forty Thieves, is very nice to look at. Hopefully, since there are more books in the series, we might get to see them on the screen, too.

As the years pass by we see the same subject being tackled again and again. But because the story is itself a kind of fantasy tale, this usually brings me in for a review.

17 Again is a mixture of It's a Wonderful Life and Big plus every high school movie ever made. Mike O'Donnell gives up his chance for a scholarship, when he finds out his girlfriend, Scarlet is pregnant. 20 years later, Mike is going through a bad divorce, his kids don't respect him and is forced to stay at his nerdy friend, Ned's house. While visiting his old' school, a janitor asks Mike if he wishes he could go back and do it all over again. Mike tells him 'yes' and the next morning, he's 17 again! I thought it was hilarious when Zac Efron acts like a parent the whole time and tells teenagers to be abstinent. He helps his son get on the basketball team, his daughter is dumped by the school bully and tries to make out with him, and his wife is dating another man.

Overall, fun movie to watch. Could have been far better if the writers had bothered to script a better plot, but seems dumped down for the younger audience that would come to see Efron on film, this is clearly a starring vehicle for him, who is moderately charming and successful in the role.

Leslie, My Name Is Evil is a comedy/crime/fanasy movie written and directed by Reginald Harkema, stars: Gregory Smith, Kristen Hager, Ryan Robbins, Sarah Gadon, Don McKellar. Set to be released on September 14, 2009 by Seville Pictures.

Perry, a sheltered chemist, falls in love with Leslie, a former homecoming princess, when he is selected to be a jury member at her hippie death cult murder trial. Perry has always done what is expected of him. He was a straight-A student who got a good job at a chemical company and proposed to his Christian girlfriend, Dorothy. Leslie took a different path after she was traumatized by Kennedy’s assassination, an abortion and the divorce of her parents. She took LSD, joined a hippie death cult and helped murder a God-fearing citizen in her own home. When Perry and Leslie lock eyes in court, Perry is forced to confront the darkest parts of him and by extension, society. LESLIE, MY NAME IS EVIL is a film that explores how the choices Perry and Leslie make reflect upon the moral choices our society has made.

The Lovely Bones is a Drama / Fantasy film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Alice Sebold, set for release by Paramount Pictures on January 15, 2010. The film was directed by Peter Jackson and stars Saoirse Ronan as Susie Salmon, with Rachel Weisz and Mark Wahlberg as her parents, Susan Sarandon as her grandmother and Stanley Tucci as George Harvey, her murderer.

In 1973, Susie Salmon (Ronan) is tragically raped and murdered at the age of fourteen by a neighbor, George Harvey (Tucci), a serial killer of young girls and women. Although Susie is dead, her spirit lives on in heaven, where she is gradually getting accustomed to her new environment. She looks down sadly as her grief-stricken father, Jack, her mother Abigail, and her siblings, Lindsey and Buckley, try to come to terms with their horrible loss.

Susie longs to comfort her family. She even brings her spirit down to earth to be near her loved ones. She aches for her father who feels her loss the most. Susie agonizes when she sees that her parents' marriage is suffering because Jack and Abigail are unable to share their grief with one another. Equally heartbreaking is Susie's regret at never being able to grow up and experience adult life with all of its possibilities.

The action starts in a very lighthearted manner, after having to come to face with the fact that Lord Voldemort is alive, the wizard community is in an uproar, and quite frightened. Cornelius Fudge has been sacked as Minister of Magic, and an Auror has been named in that position. Harry, Ron and Hermione get their O.W.Ls (Ordinary Wizardry Levels), and have to decide what courses to take for their N.E.W.Ts (Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests), something that will define their future careers.
