Activision Announces Rapala: We Fish for Wii A whole new species of fishing game is being designed specifically for the Wii

Aug 31, 2009 SANTA MONICA, Calif. / PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) has announced a brand new entry in its Rapala fishing franchise, Rapala(R): We Fish(TM) for Wii(TM). Slated for release on September 29, Rapala: We Fish is the first fishing title developed specifically for Wii(TM), featuring over-the-top fun and action-packed fishing. The game is packaged with the Rapala fishing rod and reel peripheral, letting players cast it, crank it and set the hook!

"We've partnered with Rapala to develop a new type of fishing game that focuses on arcade style family fun for the Wii(TM)," said David Oxford, Activision Publishing. "Combining responsive controls with an action-packed, humorous direction, we have created a fishing game that's unlike anything out there."

Rapala: We Fish takes a "pick up and play," comical approach to fishing. Featuring five different game modes, including co-op tournaments, 4 player split-screen and multiplayer modes, players can choose from five hilarious characters or play as their favorite Mii(TM). Players travel to eight locations around the world and compete in 24 tournament events. Battle over 50 wacky fish species, including enormous Legendary Lunkers, with the Rapala rod and reel peripheral for side-splitting fun!

In a unique twist, the fish themselves feature zany personalities and hilarious facial expressions that will make players chuckle as they race each other to be the first to catch them. Winning a tournament requires more than just fishing - you must race your boat in arcade-style competitions with power-ups and turbo speed boosts. But hurry - if a competitor knocks the fish out of your boat before you get to the safe harbor, you lose your prized catch!

"We love Activision's fresh, colorful approach to Rapala: We Fish," said Kelly Brockpahler, Rapala. "It doesn't matter if you are a fisherman in real life, this game lets players of all ages and abilities have a 'laugh out loud' good time!"

Extract is a comedy film written and directed by Mike Judge and starring Jason Bateman, Mila Kunis, J.K. Simmons, and Ben Affleck. This film is scheduled to be released on September 4, 2009 by Miramax Films.

In EXTRACT, writer/director Mike Judge (“Beavis and Butt-Head,” “King of the Hill”) returns to the fertile territory of the American workplace, rotating his perspective away from the white collar cubicle warriors of “Office Space” and towards a blue collar boss – a small business owner – who employs an odd cast of losers, loners and misfits in his flavor extract factory. To the outside eye, Joel Reynold (Jason Bateman) seems to have everything. After all, being the owner of a business he built from the ground up - with its patented brand of culinary extracts - should make the “Extract King” a happy man. However, if Joel hasn’t reached his front door by 8 o’clock, he’ll find his wife, Suzie (Kristen Wiig) cinching up her sweatpants – and about as interested in him as he is in her mastery of supermarket coupon design. Sexually frustrated, Joel confides in his best pal, Dean (Ben Affleck), a barkeep – and soon finds himself wrapped up in a convoluted scheme to make Suzie cheat on him first with a dim-witted gigolo (Dustin Milligan) – thereby allowing him to pursue beautiful new employee Cindy (Mila Kunis) with a clear conscience.

extract, movie, jason bateman, poster, film, images, front cover
Unbeknownst to Joel, the object of his affections is a con artist/sociopath - just one step away from having her parole revoked. Meanwhile, Joel and his second-in-command, Brian (J.K. Simmons) have entered negotiations for a buyout of Reynold Extracts by General Mills. All they need to do is keep things tidy, quiet and moving while waiting for the final offer. Of course, this fails to take into account the employees on the factory floor: Step (Clifton Collins, Jr.), a machismo-ridden doofus and self-proclaimed “fastest sorter” with lofty aspirations of rising to Floor Manager; Rory (T.J. Miller), a goth-rock geek who spends more time passing out flyers for his band than shuffling extract bottles; and Mary (Beth Grant), a fanny-packed, bitter slouch at the end of the assembly line who’d rather fold her arms and shake her head than keep life at Reynold moving along – which is exactly what she’s doing when a bottleneck occurs on the line, resulting in a chain of accidents that cost poor Step a portion of his manhood. Seeing a big payday, the con-artist temp woos the otherwise-loyal Step, convincing him to sue for millions, engaging bus bench lawyer Joe Adler (KISS’s Gene Simmons) to “fight for his rights” – regardless of the fact that doing so will cost Joel the factory. With his dry wit and remarkable ear for character and dialogue, Mike Judge brings his trademark “flavor” to these seemingly disparate threads, tying them together into an antic comedy about life in the middle.

Bronson is a crime film based on true story, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and starring Tom Hardy. In 1974, a misguided 19 year old named Michael Peterson decided he wanted to make a name for himself and so, with a homemade sawn-off shotgun and a head full of dreams he attempted to rob a post office. Swiftly apprehended and originally sentenced to 7 years in jail, Peterson has subsequently been behind bars for 34 years, 30 of which have been spent in solitary confinement. This film set to be released on October 9, 2009 (USA).

With an intelligent, provocative and stylized approach, BRONSON follows the metamorphosis of Mickey Peterson into Britain's most dangerous prisoner, Charles Bronson.

Tom Hardy plays the title character with disturbing intensity who physically transformed himself for the role. Hardly said, "The opportunity to play such a complex and tormented real-life character was unique challenge for me, and one that required a great level of commitment and understanding." Director Nicholas Winding Refn says about his new film, "It is Bronson's unending thirst for celebrity that has kept in prison for long. And it was this particular aspect of his personality that we tried to capture in the film."
