Antichrist is a horror movie written and directed by Lars von Trier, stars: Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Set to be released on October 23, 2009 by IFC Films (United States). A couple loses their young son when he falls out the window while they have sex in the other room. The mother's grief consigns her to hospital, but her therapist husband brings her home intent on treating her depression himself. To confront her fears they go to stay at their remote cabin in the woods, "Eden", where something untold happened the previous summer. Told in four chapters with a prologue and epilogue, the film details acts of lustful cruelty as the man and woman unfold the darker side of nature outside and within.

The Watchmen, graphic novel first picked up in 1986 by 20th Century Fox, the project bounced around the world from the US to the UK to Czechoslovakia, resting briefly at just about every major studio in the world. There were multiple scripts drafted, multiple directors tapped, and a Who's-Who of Hollywood talent courted for the lead roles. In the end, we got exactly what you'd expect to get: a mess.

I wasn't looking forward to seeing Watchmen in the theater. However, a friend wanted to see it with me, so I figured why not. I did not read Watchmen the graphic novel, so I really didn't know what I was in for.

The Watchmen is set in 1985, the US and Soviet Union are sliding towards war. The Comedian (Morgan), a member of a disbanded group of superheroes called the Watchmen, is brutally murdered; setting events in motion that will change the world. Rorschach (Haley), another member of the Watchmen, who happens to be a little unstable, sets out to find the killer. He seeks the assistance of the rest of the team, Dr. Manhattan (Crudup), Silk Spectre (Ackerman), Ozymandias (Goode), and Night Owl (Wilson), to find the killer and is met with mixed reactions. Still, he pushes onward, discovering a plan beyond his imagination.

The last half hour of the movie was completely boring. Some of it was kind of a drag but that is what a 3 hour movie can be like.

Overall, "Watchmen" isn't perfect. It's a very decent but pretty long movie. I'll bet that the graphic novel is even better. I did like the movie for what it was. It could've been a lot worse, but overall I found it tolerable.

Trucker is a drama written and directed by James Mottern makes Trucker his first movie directing debut, produced by Plum Pictures and is an independently financed movie. Stars: Michelle Monaghan, Nathan Fillion, Jimmy Bennett, Benjamin Bratt, Joey Lauren Adams. Set to be released on October 9, 2009 by Monterey Media.

Diane Ford (Michelle Monaghan), a cheerful and successful independent truck driver, leads a carefree life of long-haul trucking, one night stands and all-night drinking with Runner (Nathan Fillion, Serenity, “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog,” “Castle”) until the evening her estranged 11-year-old son, Peter (Jimmy Bennett, young James Kirk in Star Trek) is unexpectedly dropped at her door. Peter hasn’t seen his mother since he was a baby and wants to live with Diane as little as she wants him, but they are stuck with each other - at least for now, while his father Len (Benjamin Bratt) is in the hospital. Burdened with this new responsibility and seeing the life of freedom she’s fought for now jeopardized, Diane steps reluctantly into her past and looks sidelong at an uncharted future that is not as simple or straightforward as she had once believed possible.

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant is a Horror / Fantasy-Adventure film based on the popular series of books by Darren Shan called The Saga of Darren Shan. Directed by Paul Weitz and Produced by Lauren Shuler Donner. Starring: Chris Massoglia, Josh Hutcherson, John C. Reilly, Michael Ceveris. Set to ne released on October 23, 2009 by Universal Pictures.

Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant is a fantasy-adventure about a teenager who unknowingly breaks a 200-year-old truce between two warring factions of vampires. Pulled into a fantastic life of misunderstood sideshow freaks and grotesque creatures of the night, one teen will vanish from the safety of a boring existence and fulfill his destiny in a place drawn from nightmares. 16-year-old Darren (Chris Massoglia) was like most kids in his suburban neighborhood. He hung out with his best friend Steve (Josh Hutcherson), got decent grades and usually stayed out of trouble. But when he and his buddy stumble upon a traveling freak show, things begin to change inside Darren. That’s the exact moment when a vampire named Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly) turns him into something, well, bloodthirsty. Newly undead, he joins the Cirque Du Freak, a touring sideshow filled with monstrous creatures from a snakeboy and a wolfman to a bearded lady (Salma Hayek) and a gigantic barker (Ken Watanabe). As Darren flexes his newfound powers in this dark world, he becomes a treasured pawn between the vampires and their deadlier counterparts. And while trying to survive, one boy will struggle to keep their brewing war from devouring what’s left of his humanity.

Zombieland is a horror/comedy film written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and directed by Ruben Fleischer. Starring: Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin. The film will be distributed by Columbia Pictures and is scheduled to be released on October 2, 2009.

Zombieland focuses on two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies. Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) is a big wuss - but when you're afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) is an AK-totin', zombie-slayin' badass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.

The Descent Part 2 is a horror film, and sequel to the 2005 horror film The Descent. The film produced by Christian Colson and co-produced by Paul Ritchie with Neil Marshall, the producer and director of the original, as executive producer. Starring: Shauna Macdonald, Natalie Mendoza, set to be released on December 4, 2009 (UK).

The sequel will continue the story of Sarah who, as the only known survivor of an all-female caving expedition gone horrifically wrong, suffers severe psychological trauma. She accompanies a rescue team back to the cave but events once again take a sinister turn. The Descent Part 2 picks up immediately after the events depicted in The Descent. Sarah (Shauna Macdonald) emerges alone from a cave system following an expedition with her five friends in the Appalachian mountains. Distraught, injured and covered in the blood of her missing companions, Sarah is incoherent and half-wild with fear. Skeptical about her account of events and convinced Sarah's psychosis hides far darker secrets, Sheriff Vaines forces her back into the caves to help locate the rest of the group. Trapped by falling rocks, the rescue party is driven deep into the caverns, and as one by one the fate of the missing girls is revealed. Sarah struggles to stay alive and once again encounters the evil in the deep.
