Fight Night Champion is a boxing / sports video game for Xbox 360, release date to be announced later. The game is currently in development by EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts. Fight Night Champion sets out to define a new standard in sports videogames by delivering the most dynamic simulation fighting experience to date, pushing visual boundaries and redefining the single player journey for the category.

Featuring a refined physics-based animation system that incorporates improved locomotion, punching and stamina mechanics, Fight Night Champion will enable users to move, attack and dodge with the speed and power of the best champions, contenders and pretenders in the world of boxing. In addition, an all-new control scheme (dubbed Full Spectrum Punch Control) will deliver the most realistic punching system ever seen in a simulation fighting game, while still delivering an accessible experience for all players. And Fight Night Champion breaks the mold of what is expected in a single-player sports game. Players will be introduced to an entirely new way to step between the ropes and experience the drama, emotion, excitement and tragedy of world championship boxing.

Fight Night: Round 4 is a really fun game and a nice step for the series. It takes a little while to get used to the new feel of how the game is controlled and how it plays but it is great fun once you get used to it. This game is more of a step from an arcade style fighting to a more realistic style of boxing. It's a nice blend of simulation (figher styles, physical attributes, and so forth all make a difference, and you can feel it in the boxing) and arcade (controls are intuitive and easy, and the video game is entertaining without having to think too much about it if you don't want). The graphics are phenomenal. The effects, especially the replay camera and the slow-mo are very well done. The HUD is very good. I like the way that the fighter is broken down into the stamina, health and block histograms. It gives the player a good sense of his fighter's status. The gameplay is pretty decent. I do find the training to be a little bland; but you can simulate it if you like. The commentary is very well done as well. Good overall sounds effects give excellent realism to the game.

The game play gives you the freedom to create your own combination of punches based on the strengths of your fighter. You can be winning a fight and suddenly let your guard down and get caught with a sold punch that turns the fight around.

Overall, I am very happy with the game. It is definitely a lot of fun and a blast to pit two fighters from entirely different eras against one another.

It is the fourth boxing title from EA Sports, upon succeeding from the Fight Night Round 3. It features the usual improvements such as Legacy Mode, better graphics and gameplay. "Impact Punches" are one of the most drastic changes, and also features a large roster of fighters from multiple eras and weight classes. Made up of more than 40 fighters this elite group provides players with the ability to not only relive past and current rivalries, but to also create new ones across time to solve the question of who is really the greatest of all time. Just a few of the fighters that players can expect to take into the ring include: Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Roy Jones Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Lennox Lewis, Sugar Ray Leonard, Winky Wright, Eddie Chambers, Ricky Hatton, James Toney.
