League of Legends is an online multiplayer session-based video game that combines elements of role-playing and strategy genres with addictive battle action. Developed and published by Riot Games for the PC (Microsoft Windows), and the game is set to be released on October 27, 2009. After an age of warfare, the superpowers of the land of Valoran have come together to form a governing body that will settle all disputes behind the closed doors of the Institute of War. Their task is a noble one to lift the impossible weight of bloody war off the shoulders of the world and place it upon a select few The League of Legends. On the Fields of Justice, legendary Champions forge alliances and resolve their differences in battle arenas. In the League there is one rule that reigns over all else: Winner rules all.

The game is composed of sessions, with two teams fighting each other using Champions called forth by the player, represented by a Summoner - a gifted spell caster who has the power to bring forth a champion to fight as their avatar in Valoran's Fields of Justice. As a Summoner, you'll have access to many customization options and persistent growth that exists outside of each individual playing session.

The four primary elements that comprise the Summoner System are: the Summoner Profile, the Rune System, Summoner Abilities, and Masteries. These can all be viewed or customized through the PVP.NET Client, and have a significant impact on gameplay.
